Toddler Boy Room Design

October 7, 2015
Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Urban Walls

Oh happy, emotional, pregnant tears- Hudson’s toddler room is FINALLY done.  This was a labor of love/ a slight pain in the ass.  Ok a big pain.  But worth every single second when I got to see his ecstatic face.  To say he loves his room is an understatement.  He’s obsessed.  I’m going to take you on a little tour of his Space Themed Toddler Boy Room, and all the little details that make it special.  Oh, did I mention there’s two giveaways?  Scroll to the bottom to enter to win $400 to Nordstrom so you can update your own child’s room, or go shopping for yourself.  Whatever floats your boat 🙂  Then tonight on Instagram, there will be a $500 Amazon giveaway!  Let the shopping sprees commence.

Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Urban Walls

Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Land of Nod
First let’s talk about this bed setup.  The bed frame was made by my husband.  Let me just say, thank the Lord he is so handy because this was not an easy task.  If there’s enough interest he said he’d do a bed frame how-to!  Anyways, bed frame by hubby the fabulous.  There’s a full mattress nestled in there, with Jonathan Adler sheets from Amazon (links below), and blankets and pillows from Nordstrom (enter the giveaway).  The decorative pillows are as follows: rocket ship from Button Owl, moon from Salt City Emporium, and star from Land of Nod.  Those two little stuffed animals are Hudson’s favorites and hold special meaning.  We bought him the elephant when he was in the hospital with his heart condition and he’s held it close ever since, and the dog my mom bought for him when we had another little stint in the hospital.  I think both bring him comfort and remind him how much he’s loved.
Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Urban Walls

The wall was done using Urban Walls decals!  They’re easy to apply, do no damage to the paint, and are easy to remove.  If you need any room inspiration, I highly recommend following their Instagram– so many gorgeous ideas!  The sweet little felt garland draped across the top is from 3 Little Crowns– a boutique shop that specializes in making kids’  rooms awesome!

Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Land of Nod

His little reading nook!  This divine canopy is also from Land of Nod and it’s safe to say Huddy is obsessed with it.  We snuggle up in here before bed time and read his favorite books.  The constellations are great for his soaring imagination, and the ceiling makes it super fun- more on that later.  The floor cushion is from Home Goods, blanket is from Little Cocoa Bean (they’ve closed shop but opened a new one with equally fabulous blankets- Fin and Vince) and pillows are from My Munchkin Mall.

Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Button Owl
I had to add a night light of some sort to his happy reading area- enter Button Owl Boutique and her unique light designs.  Aren’t these Space Fairy Lights perfection?  They’re run by a battery pack, so all I had to do was tie them to the starry ceiling in the canopy, turn it on, and let Hudson ooooh and ahhhh over it.

Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Book Shelves
Oh my goodness do we love reading over here!  All three of those baskets are full, and then of course so are the shelves.  I think I have a little book nerd in the making.  The large star my parents bought for him before he was even born- stars have been his thing since the womb.  You can find a similar star here:

Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Book Shelves
Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Book Shelves
Hudson has a slight obsession with night lights, so I also had to get this cloud nightlight from 3 Little Crowns.
Toddler Boy Room Design Space Theme Decor
And last, but certainly not least, is his dresser.  It’s full of sweet signs and little keepsakes.  The “Space Alphabet” and “You are my Sun, Moon” are both from Stop Growing Up.  The owner of SGU is an inspiration and helped me come up with the overall theme of the room.  You must check out her shop for any room decor!
The old bear was Hudson’s as a child, and the little beanie was my grandfather’s.  The rest of the decor can be found on Amazon:

I love the lighting – especially the star night light. We just redid my toddler (he's three, is that pre-schooler?)'s bedroom and he cried for the first three nights… Not a hit, but we think he'll love it eventually because it offers him MUCH more space to play! Glad your son loves his!
