2020 Resolutions

Do you make New Year Resolutions? Popular Atlanta Blogger Happily Hughes is sharing her 2020 resolutions for herself and her family HERE!

Let me start by saying, I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions per say.  What, 1 in 100000000000 actually keep theirs, right? I more take this time to refocus and goal set for the year.  2020 is going to be one for the books.  Come hell or high water, this is going to be a GREAT YEAR!!  And I hope and pray and wish that for all of you.  Because as we’ve discussed before, 2019 was a real bitch wasn’t she?

The kids and I started off the year at the beach.  Looking back on 2019 and all it’s chaos, it was where I felt the most at peace and the most happy.  My children are total beach babies too.  I swear they’re part mermaid.  As you’ve seen in stories, Henley will run out into the ocean and just spin around with her arms outstretched.  It’s pure, unadulterated joy.  New Year’s Eve we walked the beach at night, staring at the gorgeous stars and fireworks.  It was the perfect way to kick off 2020!  We spent a couple more days at the beach, then came home to get ready for the rest of the year.  The kids did some goal planning too, so let me share theirs.

Hudson- to become a Pokemon Trainer and go to Canada.

Henley- to become Elsa and also go to Canada, because “I go where my brudder goes.”

Pretty great goals, right?  Haha I tried to get them to elaborate on school goals etc but they weren’t having it.  Now here are my goals for the year:

  • Most importantly: Rebuild.  My life, my family, my business.  Better and stronger than before.
  • More travel with the kids.  Last year I tried to shield them from all the craziness the divorce caused, but we’re on the other side of that now and I really want to get back to traveling more.  They’ve been asking a lot recently to go on more trips/flights etc too.
  • Take the time to recover when I need it- time off from the gym when my body is sore, time off from being social when I feel burnt out from human contact.

That’s it. Tell me your dreams/resolutions for 2020 on Instagram!
