Five After School Snacks

Now that school is back in full swing, we’ve been focusing on healthy after school snacks for my favorite toddler.  Hudson is very picky so it’s been a task trying to find food that he likes that’s also good for him!  I received these goods in my Babbleboxx and they are the perfect answer to my after school snack prayers.

My absolute favorite is the Peanut Butter & Co.’s Chocmeister Chocolatey Hazelnut Spread.  It is DELICIOUS and has double the protein of the typical chocolate hazelnuts spreads.  I plan on ordering the Chocmeister Dark Chocolatey Spread for myself.  We pair this with alphabet cookies for an afternoon treat.  I love that it tastes so good, gives Hudson protein, and allows for us to practice his letters!  You can get 20% off your order using the code LessSugarChoc.

Hudson’s favorite is actually the Peeled Snacks White Cheddar Peas Please.  These crunchy “healthy cheetos” are nutrient dense snacks that provide up to 1/2 cup of veggies, five grams of protein, and three grams of fiber per serving.  These are a great on-the-go snack, especially if we have plans after school!  You can get 15% off with the code BABBLE16.

I like to pair the Peas Please with the Popchips Ridges Sour Cream chips.  They have a big crunch, a kick of flavor, and are a delicious contrast to the Peas!  They’re gluten-free and have half the fat of fried potato chips.  I’m a big fan of using these to dip in the:

Garlic Herb, Honey Mustard and Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper Sabra Spreads™ with Hummus.  I’ve always been a Sabra fan, and these new spreads are no exception!    They have 75% less fat than the leading mayonnaise, have a HUGE amount of flavor, and this fun squeeze bottle allows me to make snack time more fun.

The Veetee Rice was actually stolen by my husband.  He’s a huge rice enthusiast and loved the simplicity of these.  He grilled some chicken, took these easy microwaveable rices, and had lunch for the entire week at work!  They’d also be a great after school snack with some grilled chicken and pineapple (a Hudson favorite).  I appreciate this brand specifically because they’re non-GMO, ready in 2 minutes, and the tray is even BPA free and recyclable.

  1. Going to share this with my daughter, she makes most of their snacks but sometimes breaks down and buys something. Would be good to know they are good for them.

  2. Such great snacks! My oldest is a super picky eater, but I like to squeeze in nutritional food that he doesn’t know is good for him. These would be perfect! I love that the hazelnut spread has less sugar, and those Sabra spreads sound delicious.

  3. Even though I’m not in school and don’t have kids, I’m still always looking for healthy snack ideas for myself. Those pea crisps are definitely one of my current favourites!

  4. Those hummus spreads sound yummy! I’m a big fan of dips/spreads in general–it’s definitely good to find snacks that are both tasty and nutritious!

  5. These are all so fun! I’ve seen those Popchips with ridges around lately and I’m dying to try them. I’m a big fan of the original ones, so I’m sure these are just as delish. But really I’ve gotta find that Chocmeister!
